About the Motel
The San Gabriel Motel is the oldest motel in Georgetown with the initial units built in the 1930s. At that time, the motel was named San Gabriel Courts and consisted of four small units and the owner’s quarters. Since that time, the motel has added two additional wings and the manager’s residence.
Tourist courts have all but disappeared over the past few decades. Today, large chain hotels line the interstate highways. The original tourist courts have either deteriorated through neglect or have gone out of business unable to compete with the large chains. We are proud to be continue the long tradition of the tourist court with the highest quality and standards.
The San Gabriel Motel is family owned and operated by the Houston family (Jeff, Lisa, and daughters Amy and Kim). Both Jeff and Lisa are graduates of Southwestern University. Jeff has a Ph.D. in industrial psychology and Lisa works at an area school district as an occupational therapist. Amy and Kim attend area schools. We live on the premises and are here to insure that your stay is enjoyable. |
